Wolfram Maas says that the attack on the German embassy in Belgrade after the Kosovo rally was planned. “Until that night, February 21, when the big meeting was held in Belgrade, we had confidence in the Serbian police, which had responsibly protected our embassy. However, we then witnessed the police retreat from the embassy in an organized fashion one or two minutes before the mob attacked,” Maas told daily Vecernje Novosti.
