The District Prosecution in Novi Sad has launched legal proceedings against Education Minister Zoran Loncar. It comes on the basis of two criminal complaints filed against him over suspicions that, as co-owner of the Ju Biznis company, he failed to declare over EUR 90,000 for tax purposes, writes daily Blic. Minister suspected of tax evasion According to the daily, the complaints were brought by an unnamed professor at the Law Faculty in Novi Sad. Blic states that Loncar, DSS, has been accused of abuse of powers through the purchase and sale of medicine for himself and his partners, but that an investigation has not yet been launched, as the complaints have still to be fully reviewed. The prosecution confirmed to Blic that they had asked for the complaints, that were brought in February, to be looked into, and that the Finance Ministry and the Regional Department of the Novi Sad Tax Police had conducted checks and had submitted a report to the prosecution.
