Novi Sad Mayor Maja Gojkovic has quit the Serb Radical Party (SRS), says daily Gradjanski List. According to the paper, that quotes a well-informed source, Gojkovic has definitely left the SRS, and will probably set up her own party. The party has still not been registered, nor does it even have a name,“ says the same source. SRS Deputy President Tomislav Nikolic has denied the rumors. Beta tried to contact Gojkovic, but she is currently abroad. Nikolic has denied that the mayor is leaving the party. The SRS deputy president said that he had spoken to Gojkovic today, who is on a business trip to Switzerland, and that no mention had been made of her quitting the Radicals. A month ago, in an interview with NIN, he confirmed that the mayor had broken off all contact with the SRS, though he stressed that she had not been expelled from the party.
