The EU envoy to the Contact Group Kosovo Troika, Wolfgang Ischinger, is in Moscow today. The German diplomat will be meeting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov for talks about the ongoing Kosovo status process, Beta learned in the Russian diplomatic sources. Ischinger in Moscow, set to meet Lavrov Before talks with the Russian chief of diplomacy, Ischinger will meet with his Troika colleague Aleksandr Botsan-Kharchenko and deputy foreign minister Vladimir Titov. The diplomats will not hold a news conference or address reporters after the meetings. According to Itar-TASS, the sides will review the results of the first direct meeting between Belgrade and Pristina representatives held in New York in late September, and determine further steps in the resolution of the Kosovo issue. Ahead of talks with Russian officials, Ischinger announced the possibility of holding the final negotiating conference on Kosovo, similar to the one held in Dayton, Ohio, in late November or early December. Moscow will see lively diplomatic activity on the highest level this week, with French President Nicolas Sarkozy and U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice both scheduled to visit, for, among other issues, talks about the Kosovo status crisis.
