Priština: No alternative to independence

However, the source was unable to say who will represent Belgrade at the meeting.

The Priština team unofficially received an invitation for a meeting with the EU-U.S.-Russian envoys for Kosovo during the recent visit of the Contact Group diplomats to Priština.

Ethnic Albanian political leaders did not hide they unwillingly entered the new round of negotiations with Belgrade. However, Priština team said following their last meeting that the Kosovo Albanian delegation would travel to Vienna equipped with a very clear concept.

“We will confirm our final and unwavering position that Kosovo’s independence has no alternative,” Fatmir Sejdiu, Kosovo president and leader of the team, said Thursday.

The idea of partitioning Kosovo mentioned by European Envoy to the Troika Wolfgang Ischinger in Priština Sunday has been categorically dismissed by the Kosovo Albanian negotiators.

Russian envoy to the Troika Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko said yesterday that the Vienna meeting will feature separate meetings between the Troika and Priština and Belgrade, stressing that the Troika's aim is to bring them together for direct negotiations.
