U.S. releases US$ 6mn of suspended aid

The funds were frozen on May 31, 2006, due to Belgrade’s lack of compliance with the Hague Tribunal.

Serbia recently took steps that include facilitating the arrest of two International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) fugitives, the press release said.

“We welcome these actions by the Republic of Serbia to improve cooperation with the Tribunal, however the Secretary’s decision does not indicate that Serbia fully met its obligation to arrest and transfer all indictees to the Tribunal.”
