Ethnic Croatian leader lauds apology
Horvat said that Serbs and Croats in their own communities will encounter some who do not agree with what Tadić and his Croatian counterpart Mesić were doing, but added that “because of the road towards democracy and the European Union, what the to state officials said is unavoidable and well thought through.”Horvat said that the Croatian community in Serbia will see the apology as a positive step for both nations, “mainly for Serbia, in which they have chosen to live.”
“We must look ahead and help our motherland of Croatia, and Serbia, the country we live in, to find themselves on the democratic, European territory, because that is the only thing that can pull us out and move us forward,” Horvat said.
