Tadić: UN Kosovo decision unpredictable

“I have so far held innumerable international meetings on Serbia’s behalf, and none of the international community representatives, including those from major world powers, can predict what might happen in the UN Security Council with respect to Kosovo,” he said.

He added it would not be good if relations between major powers deteriorated because of Kosovo.

“Our position under those circumstances would not be favorable. We would have to protect our interests and look for allies, all the while remaining in harmony with major powers,” Tadić said, adding that Serbia must build alliances with all world powers.

He reiterated that a compromise solution for Kosovo’s future status was possible, and that there were various legal and political formulations fit to define the compromise.

“Compromise entails the highest degree of autonomy for the Albanian community in Kosovo, self-governance in a political and economic sense, without violation of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he explained.
