Serbian and EU officials will meet again next week to discuss visa and readmission agreements once again.

Serbia, EU discuss visas next week

“We are working on a proposal to be put before the government concerning a more specific article on readmission, in order to find a way to satisfy both sides and avoid further delays,” Miščević said.

The European Commission has rejected articles related to admission of citizens of third countries illegally entering the EU via Serbian territory.

The European Commission and a Serbian government delegation reached an agreement on March 20 to offer some categories of citizens EU visas free of charge. This agreement is likely the first to be initialed.

The signing of both visas and readmission agreements is planned for September and will take effect in January 2008.
