Cabinet talks after Parliament session
Tadić may offer the PM post to Božidar Đelić, the DS candidate, on February 19 and give him two weeks to put a government together, Belgrade daily Blic reported, quoting sources close to the negotiating parties. When it comes to the distribution of ministries, Blic quoted source as saying that party leaders should decide on the matter by holding face-to-face talks.
“Koštunica is ready to negotiate the seat of the minister of the interior, and Dinkić could trade the finance minister post for the seat of vice-president in charge of foreign economic relations and balanced regional development”, the source revealed.
The Serbian Government is currently comprised of 19 ministries. However, circumstances suggest that the number of departments should increase. “Additional vice-president positions will probably open: one vice-premier will be in charge of safety, other will control investment or foreign economic relations, and another will co-ordinate regional development and human rights. The Capital Investment Ministry will be split into three separate departments”, the daily wrote.
