Bosnia expels foreign fighters
Later, however, many were confirmed to be affiliated with terrorist organizations and activities around Europe.Former Editor of Oslobođenje Kemal Kurspahić said that the West and Croatia turned a blind eye to the fact that foreign fighters were entering Bosnia because there was an international embargo at the time, and Bosnia had no weapons while its Muslim population was being persecuted in some areas of the country.
“Some came out of Muslim solidarity, but some were responsible for horrible war crimes committed by Bosnian forces. Once the war ended, allowing them to gain citizenship and remain in the country was a big mistake,” Kurspahić said.
He said that the government has a right to be concerned, as does the international community, since there are threats present to national security because of the presence of some of these persons.
