The final decision on the continuation of the privatization of the Mining and Smelting Basin (RTB) Bor has been postponed.

RTB Bor decision postponed

Earlier this week, the council responsible for monitoring and implementing the restructuring and privatization of the company decided that Economy and Regional Development Minister Mlađan Dinkić, as president of the council, should propose to the government a plan for privatizing the mining giant. 

At the council meeting Wednesday, all aspects of the privatization were discussed, from legal and economic questions to the environmental protection issues in Bor.

The Privatization Agency cancelled the contract for the sale of RTB Bor to Romanian Cuprom on April 25, after it failed to submit financial guarantees for paying the agreed price of US$ 400mn before the deadline expired.
