The Government will halt housing loans subventions since the funds set aside for the purpose have been used up.

Government suspends housing loan subventions

National Corporation for Housing Loan Insurance director Aleksandar Jović said that the beneficiaries would be able to collect the installment by Thursday.

He added that the subvention funds incorporated in the temporary financing regime were almost used up. 

However, he stressed  that the citizens who were already granted loans should rest assured since they would be able to collect the money.

“The remaining funds will be sufficient to settle existing loans, but pending requests will have to wait for a new government and a regular 2007 budget,” Jović added

Commercial banks have already been officially notified to halt reception of loan applications on May 10.

The housing loan subvention funds set aside only for the first two quarters of 2007 correspond to the total amount spent for the same purpose last year.
