Government settles loan subventions slip
Yesterday the Government allotted an additional 5.6 million euros to finance its share of subsidized housing loans by the end of the temporary financing regime. The Government decided that the housing loan funds that go through the National Corporation for Housing Loan Insurance may also be indexed in Swiss francs.
Citizens will benefit from the decision, since they will be able to save more money in case they opt for a loan indexed in francs, in comparison to the euro indexed loans.
Loan beneficiaries will eventually save around 14,000 euros if the loan with a 30 year repayment period doesn’t exceed 50,000 euros. For loans worth up to 100,000 euros, beneficiaries could save 28,000 euros.
