Shinada also said he hoped the medical equipment would provide for a higher quality of medical care to patients in the Toplica District.

The ceremony at the Prokuplje regional health center was attended by assistant health minister Goran Ilić, a government statement said.

Ilić said he believed the Serbian healthcare system was “moving towards EU standards”, and that “such assistance would not be necessary in the near future”, the statement said.

The Toplica health centre and hospital provide healthcare to four municipalities and over 100,000 users.
