Organized Crime Prosecution indicts Serbians for terrorism
They are on the run, and have an arrest warrant issued for them, while the prosecution proposed that they be tried in absentia.A statement said on Thursday Pavlovic and Plojovic have been indicted on suspicion that they and a number of so far unidentified persons, as well as five other suspects indicted earlier, conspired to commit terrorist offenses, recruitment and training for the commission of terrorist acts, and terrorist financing.
The five other suspects - Abid Podbicanin, Sead Plojovic, Tefik Mujovic, Izudin Crnovrsanin and Ferat Kasumovic - were indicted in early 2013.
Pavlovic and Plojovic are charged with established a connection in early 2013, via Podbicanin and Mujovic, with organizations the United Nations designated as terrorist - namely, ISIL and Al-Nusra Front.
In addition, they are charged with continuously collecting money from like-minded persons in Serbia, the region, and Western Europe, and with financing the departure of more citizens of Serbia they previously recruited to participate in armed conflicts, first to terrorist training camps in Syria, and then to the front.
According to the evidence collected during the investigation the accused Goran Pavlovic and Rejhan Plojovic in the second half of 2013 joined "the said terrorist organization" in Syria.
The prosecution also proposed mering the procedure related to these indictments with that of the five previously indicted suspects.
