Minister says "two biggest narco bosses" are under arrest

Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said on Friday that police had arrested several drugs trafficking suspects, including the two biggest drug lords in Serbia.

Minister says "two biggest narco bosses" are under arrest

In a second police operation in Novi Sad, in cooperation with the Organized Crime Prosecutor's Office and the Security and Intelligence Agency (BIA), three people were arrested, and another top trafficker in Serbia.

Serbian and French police have arrested an international crime group involved in arms smuggling, Nebojsa Stefanovic said on Friday.

In collaboration with the French police, four people from Kula, Krusevac, Novi Pazar and Kraljevo, respectively, have been arrested, while nine other people have been arrested in France based on information from the Serbian department for fighting organised crime, Stefanovic said.

"The largest arms smuggling chain between the two countries has thus been dismantled," the minister noted.

Stefanovic also told reporters that B. B., a resident of Kumanovo charged with providing logistical support in terrorist attacks in Macedonia between January and May, has been arrested at the Brnjak administrative crossing on an Interpol warrant.
