Nobody else was injured. Police, firefighters and ambulances were all at the scene in the wake of the incident.

According to the Belgrade based daily Blic, the victim was Dragan Jelinovic, the owner of the Cabaret Rose nightclub.

Initial information from the investigation shows that Jelinovic died when a bomb planted under his Audi A8 vehicle exploded.

TV Pink is reporting that the car had been completely destroyed in the blast that shattered windows on nearby buildings. According to this broadcaster, it is believed that the device was activated remotely.

Jelinovic was in the past arrested on the border between Serbia and the Serb Republic on a German warrant, TV Pink said, adding that he was wanted for murder in that country, where he was extradited and where he served time in prison.
