A 16 year old boy was shot and killed in Belgrade on Monday night in the yard of an elementary school in the neighborhood of Kaluđerica.

Teenager fatally shot in Belgrade schoolyard

The perpetrator and the motive are still unknown.

The daily Blic writes that the victim's father told the doctors his son was shot "from a moving vehicle," but the police have not confirmed this version.

"My son went out to take a walk with his friends, and then they told me he was killed. I don't know why or how it happened. He had no quarrel with anyone, he was a nice, quiet student," the father was quoted as saying, and adding that the shooting happened "300 meters" from their family home.

The newspaper writes today that the victims' father "showed up at the Emergency Center only ten minutes after the shooting and said, in a state of shock, that his son was shot at from a moving car."

But the police are suspicious of this possibility, as the boy was shot in the back.

The daily said that "another theory" was that the killed approached the victim from the back, and that the police were looking for clues to rule out the possibility that he was killed by another boy from his group.

The article said that according to "this version" the teenager was "sitting with his friends, and was shot at as he was leaving the school yard," described as so "inaccessible and dark" that firefighters had to assist the police as they investigated the scene last night.
