Oliver Ivanović has sent an open letter to the people of Kosovska Mitrovica, saying his enemies are "hidden and powerful."

Ivanović from prison: They will not break me

In the open letter forwarded from his party's office, Ivanović said that there had been "rigged accusations and false witnesses even before, and despite many people believing such times are now gone, that seems not to be the case."

He notes that it is possible that this will happen again in the future, but stresses that then all citizens of Kosovska Mitrovica and others who find themselves in a situation similar to the one he is in will at least be able to count on the assistance of their legally and legitimately elected mayor.

Ivanović also underscores that there has been enough of suffering and voices belief that citizens will recognize in him and the GI SDP a team that does not promise unrealistic things, but rather delivers on its promises.

An international judge ordered one month detention for Ivanović following his arrest on January 27 on suspicion of involvement in alleged war crimes in 1999, post-war incidents in 2000, and in an aggravated murder.
