NOVI SAD Serbian and Montenegrin police forces have agreed to form joint task forces for fighting organized crime and corruption. This was announced by the two countries' police directors Milorad Veljovic and Slavko Stojanovic. Serbia, Montenegro "join forces against organized crime" "The purpose of the task forces is to prevent criminals from both countries from working together and show them we are stronger than they are," Veljovic told reporters on Sunday. There are unresolved murders in both Serbia and Montenegro, and the fact is that most crimes that happen in Serbia are connected to Montenegro and vice versa, he said. Stojanovic explained the joint teams will synchronize their investigations, adding that the senior people at the Serbian and Montenegrin criminal police services will get concrete instructions and tasks in the coming period. The agreement to form the joint team was reached Saturday, along with one on the engagement of Serbian police officers in Montenegrin seaside resorts during the summer season. "Serbian uniform police officers will protect the safety of our citizens together with their Montenegrin colleagues, and help with other problems," said Veljovic.
