Police director: Identity of Arkan’s killer confirmed
Serbian Police Director Milorad Veljović says the identity of Doborsav Gavrić, convicted of Željko Ražnatović Arkan’s murder, has been confirmed.

Serbian Police Director Milorad Veljovic says the identity of Doborsav Gavric, convicted of Zeljko Raznatovic Arkan’s murder, has been confirmed. It is expected that he will soon be arrested. Police director: Identity of Arkan’s killer confirmed Gavric was arrested in South Africa. His identity was revealed during a police investigation into a murder of a crime boss in Cape Town in March. He was accused of drug trafficking and was later released on bail. Gavric and his accomplice Milan Djuricic were arrested in 2001 and sentenced to 30 and 35 years in prison respectively for Arkan’s murder. Both men denied they had been involved in the murder. They have been on the run since 2003 when they were released pending trial. Arkan, who was accused of crimes against humanity during the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina from 1992 until 1995 by the Hague Tribunal, was killed on January 15, 2000.
