The village itself is located in the municipality of Presevo. Weapons found stashed near southern town Officials said on Thursday that the weapons were most likely hidden there in 2001 by members of the ethnic Albanian Liberation Army of Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac (UCPMB). The terrorist group was an offshoot of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). The weapons were hidden in an abandoned well, some 50 meters from the village households, said a police statement. Officers found seven semi-automatic rifles, seven hand-grenades, 517 rounds 7.62mm caliber bullets, 14 automatic rifle frames, and four combat vests. The weapons were bundled into a plastic barrel, tied and lowered into the well, which was then filled with earth, rocks and wood. The police statement did not identify any suspects, but said that the items recovered were "in working order", while the rifles also had "names engraved on them".
