A group of local football fans accused of subjecting a visiting French fan to a deadly beating in Belgrade in 2009 have been found guilty of murder.

A group of local football fans accused of subjecting a visiting French fan to a deadly beating in Belgrade in 2009 have been found guilty of murder. For this crime, a Belgrade court sent them to prison for a total of 240 years. Frenchman's killers get 240 years in jail Djordje Prelic and Dejan Puzigaca were found guilty of organizing the beating and received sentences of 35 and 32 years in jail. Ljubomir Markovic and Ivan Grkovic were also found guilty and will spend 30 years in prison, while most others received sentences of between 12 and 14 years. Vladimir Boskovic, accused of aiding the perpetrators, will serve two years suspended sentence. The trial lasted for seven months and the judges heard some 15 witnesses in that time, and were presented with a large body of evidence. French national Brice Taton was assaulted in downtown Belgrade in September 2009. He died of his injuries in hospital 12 days later.
