War crimes suspect arrested in Montenegro

War Crimes Prosecution has announced that Milojko Nikolić, suspected of participating in a war crime in Kosovo in 1999, was arrested in Montenegro.

War Crimes Prosecution has announced that Milojko Nikolic, suspected of participating in a war crime in Kosovo in 1999, was arrested in Montenegro. It is suspected that Nikolic as a member of the “Jackals” unit took part in the killing of 44 Albanian civilians in the village of Cuska near Pec. War crimes suspect arrested in Montenegro Toplica Miladinovic and eight other members of the “Jackals”, territorial defense and police reserve unit are currently standing trial for the crime in the village of Cuska before the War Crimes Special Court in Belgrade. Six suspects are still at large. It is expected that Nikolic will be extradited to Serbia in accordance with the Extradition Treaty between Serbia and Montenegro which was signed on October 29, 2010.

Toplica Miladinović and eight other members of the “Jackals”, territorial defense and police reserve unit are currently standing trial for the crime in the village of Ćuška before the War Crimes Special Court in Belgrade.

Six suspects are still at large.

It is expected that Nikolić will be extradited to Serbia in accordance with the Extradition Treaty between Serbia and Montenegro which was signed on October 29, 2010.
