Serbia has had Interpol notices issued for their arrest. After Serbia and Montenegro signed an extradition agreement last week, Boris Laban, another Saric associate, has been detained in Berane. Saric is himself a fugitive. The Montengrin who has given Serbian citizenship is accused of masterminding the trafficking of more than two tons of cocaine from South America to Europe. The Belgrade newspaper says that Montenegrin police are certain the three suspects are hiding near Berane and have called on residents to report any information about their whereabouts. Sekularac and Skokovic were both detained in Montenegro in February, but were released by the Montenegrin State Prosecution "for lack of evidence". However, another Belgrade daily, Vecernje Novosti, writes today that the three were warned in advance by someone acquainted with the operation that was in the works, and that they thus had time to flee. As Laban was being arrested, Vukovic was in a parking lot in downtown Berane, the daily writes, and after a telephone call escaped, with police still searching for him. Skokovic is seen after he was released in February (B92, file)
