Escaped Kosovo criminal arrested

The Kosovo police arrested convicted criminal Lirim Jakupi in Priština on Sunday, according to a police statement.

The Kosovo police arrested convicted criminal Lirim Jakupi in Pristina on Sunday, according to a police statement. Jakupi was one of the seven people who escaped from the Dubrava prison, near Istok, three years ago. Escaped Kosovo criminal arrested Special units of the Kosovo police carried out the operation. During the search of Jakupi's house, they found and seized two hand grenades, an AK-47 rifle and two pistols. Jakupi was born in Gnjilane in 1979 and was convicted of kidnapping of Albanian civilians in Kosovo. The district court in the southern town of Vranje has also convicted Jakupi in absentia for terrorism.

Special units of the Kosovo police carried out the operation. During the search of Jakupi's house, they found and seized two hand grenades, an AK-47 rifle and two pistols.
