Financial investigations have uncovered properties worth about EUR 100mn, Blic writes. Daily: Saric laundered billions The daily states that because of the large sums brought into Serbia through the drug trade, Saric’s group has become a priority for the special prosecution and its investigators. A part of the money that was put into legal uses without many middlemen can be uncovered fairly easily. It is very possible that some of the money ended up in private pockets and will never be found, Blic’s source close to the investigation said. According to sources and estimates within Serbian investigative institutions, Saric’s group earned about EUR 5bn from the drug trade. This money was invested not only in Serbia, but also in Montenegro and even some Western European countries, Blic states. “Part of the money was used to spread their network and influence, because they were cocaine suppliers for Western Europe as well,” the source added.
