33 persons suspected of cocaine trafficking have been arrested in a joint operation of the Serbian Organized Crime Prosecution and their Italian counterparts. This is according to a report in Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti today. Italy, Serbia arrest 33 suspects Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime Miljko Radisavljevic told the newspaper that Boban Djordjevic and Dusan Vranesevic from Leskovac and Nenad Alijevic from Subotica were arrested during this operation. Italian Anti-Mafia National Prosecutor Pietro Grasso told reporters in Bari that the organization was led by Serbian and Montenegrin nationals, RTS reported late on Thursday. On the basis of a police investigation in Italy, 30 persons were kept in custody, this report said. Those arrested were of Italian, Serb, Montenegrin, Albanian and Columbian nationality. According to the police investigation, the cocaine was distributed in the north of Italy and in Bari.
