Serbian police (MUP) have arrested two members of extreme football supporter groups in Belgrade last night. Police searched 35 locations in Belgrade and detained Nikola Manojlovic, 27, and Zoran Milivojevic, 31. "Extreme fans" arrested in overnight raids The pair were detained because of illegal possession and trafficking of drugs, while one of them was also in possesson of illegal weapons and explosives. The raids were launched by the Criminal Investigations Police Directorate (UKP), the Belgrade Police Directorate, and MUP Gendarmerie (Zandarmerija). The goal of the operation was to find arms, drugs and explosives, MUP said, adding that their officers managed to confiscate a sizeable amount of arms, ammunition, narcotics, "baseball bats and metal bars", balaclavas, flares, "and other pyrotechnical items". Two persons arrested during the raids have been remanded in police custody, two will be charged with criminal offenses, while five others face misdemeanor charges, MUP said. (Beta, file)
