Serbian and American police cooperated to indentify a person in Chicago believed to have sent threatening letters to Serbian officials. This is according to a statement from Serbian police (MUP) Director Milorad Veljovic. Person behind death threats identified The suspect, believed to be behind the threatening letters sent to the top state officials during the past few years has been identified in Chicago, Veljovic said, but explained that in the interest of the investigation, their identity will not be revealed at this time. President Boris Tadic, President of the Supreme Court Nata Mesarovic and War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic were among those who received the letters. Veljovic said that Serbia's intelligence agencies, including civilian BIA and military VBA had participated in resolving of the case. “The person in question holds citizenship of the Republic of Serbia, his identity and location are known, but I will not say any other details due to the investigation and the agreements between the two prosecutor’s offices and two ministries of justice,” Veljovic said. “The Serbian and U.S. ministries of justice will decide whether this person will be tried in America or deported to Serbia in order to face trial before a domestic court,” he said.
