Australian tourist assaulted According to B92’s sources from the Belgrade emergency center, Brown suffered minor injuries of the nose. “We got a call from the Interior Ministry to go to the Kalemegdan public toilets. We were told that he had facial injuries and head injuries,” emergency medical worker Nada Macura told B92. Police took statements from eyewitnesses and assigned police security for the Australian tourists. The attack occurred despite the increased police presence on the streets of Belgrade on Sunday. “This is another in a chain of events occurring in the city over the last several months. What I am happy about is that we have a very clear police presence today on all city streets,” Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas told B92. He reminded that many arrests have already been made over the last several days and that they would continue. “What is most important is to not stop today, but for police to continue these actions and to include the prosecution and courts in continuing until we have a situation in Belgrade where all the citizens, whether of Serbian nationality or our guests, feel completely safe,” Djilas said.
