The trial of seven former Republic of Srpska Army (VSR) officers, accused of genocide and war crimes, will hear closing arguments at the Hague Tribunal. The prosecutor will start his final argument today, at the end of a process that started in July 2006. Army officers Vujadin Popovic, Ljubisa Beara, Vinko Pandurevic, Drago Nikolic and Ljubomir Borovcanin all face genocide charges, related to the deaths of over 7,000 Srebrenica Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims) in July 1995. Generals Radivoj Miletic and Milan Gvero have been charged with crimes against humanity. Only VSR Gen. Radislav Krtic has received a final verdict at the Hague for complicity in the Srebrenica genocide. He was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
