A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Serbian Football Association President Zvezdan Terzic. The Interior Ministry stated that it had confirmed that Terzic had illegally embezzled over DM 1mn while working with the OFK Belgrade team. Warrant issued for arrest of FA President The ministry has issued a warrant for Terzic’s arrest on suspicion of abuse of powers. According to B92’s sources, Terzic illegally made DM 1.1mn on the transfer of Vanja Grubac from OFK Belgrade to Hamburg in 1998. Terzic has not been in Serbia since January, when he stated after the UEFA congress in Zagreb that he would be going to the U.S. to attend university for higher education purposes. The FA president told the media earlier that he would be returning to Serbia, while daily Politika printed a full-page interview with Terzic today, in which he stated that he would be back in Serbia for several days to attend the meeting of the Football Association’s board of directors in Kosovska Mitrovica on March 13. Reportedly, Terzic is being treated in London for injuries he suffered while skiing in France. He was expected to return a week ago, according to earlier reports. Tomislav Karadzic has assumed the FA president’s functions in Terzic’s absence.

Warrant issued for arrest of FA President

The ministry has issued a warrant for Terzić’s arrest on suspicion of abuse of powers.
