First investigation against rioters

The District Court of Belgrade Saturday evening launched an investigation against Milan Zivanovic. He is suspected of committing the crime against public security and grand larceny during the Feb. 21 riots in Belgrade, District Court spokesperson Ivana Ramic told Tanjug. First investigation against rioters "After questioning Zivanovic, the judge ordered an investigation and remanded Zivanovic in custody for 30 days," Ramic said. She added that Zivanovic was kept in custody because of the serious circumstances of the acts committed and the expected sentence. Zivanovic is the first to be brought before the District Court for his participation in the riots that broke out after a peaceful protest against the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo. Zivanovic is also being investigated for developments linked to the U.S. embassy fire that killed one.
