Milan Mandic, a Serb Radical Party (SRS) official, was arrested Sunday in Moscow. Mandic, a Croatian Serb, now a Backa Palanka, Vojvodina, municipal manager, traveled to Russia at the invitation of Otraga city authorities in the Samarsk Region. Radical official arrested in Moscow He was a member of the Croatian police until the 1991 war in that country, when he was arrested and later released to become a policeman in the Serb-controlled territory of Eastern Slavonia. The Foreign Ministry said Monday that Serbian citizen Milan Mandic, wanted on an Interpol arrest warrant, was detained at airport in Moscow. In Croatia, Mandic was sentenced in absentia to 14 years in prison for "criminal acts" committed during the war in that country.
