Y-o-y inflation "to start growing in May" - NBS governor
Year-on-year inflation in Serbia will start growing in May and be within the target tolerance band by the beginning of next year, Jorgovanka Tabakovic has said.

Y-o-y inflation "to start growing in May" - NBS governor
Presenting the May 2016 NBS inflation report at a press conference in Belgrade on Tuesday, Tabakovic said that the current inflation movements were below the bottom of the NBS' target band as a result of low prices of oil and primary agricultural products.Pointing out that y-o-y inflation in April was 0.4 percent, Tabakovic said that the decline was also attributable to falling prices of fruits and vegetables, disinflationary pressures from euro zone countries and aggregate demand.
Tabakovic said that the inflation rate in the financial sector would be moving between 2.5 and 2.8 percent, while expectations of businesses were lower, at two percent.
Tabakovic said that the NBS would closely monitor developments in the external financial and commodity markets and be adapting its monetary policy to maintain financial stability, pointing out that it would not at all costs go for lowering the key policy rate, but rather make decisions in line with developments in global markets.
