Anti-Corruption Council against Telekom sale

The Council believes that it should be established whether Telekom owns goods of general interest or natural resources which cannot be alienated from public property, and it should also be seen whether the property used by government bodies (Security Intelligence Agency, Military Security Agency and Military Intelligence Agency) which is used in their conduct of activities.

The Council recommended to the relevant institutions to carry out a review of Telekom operation because it has been doing business in a non-transparent way and under notable political influence.

The release states that based on the financial data, the Council concluded that Telekom and its dependent bodies are recording gain in their line of business, which is important for the Serbian economy, having in mind the ownership structure.

Telekom's net gain could be significantly higher if Telekom conducted business more rationally and transparently, the Council said.
