Private transportation companies will participate in 46 to 47 routes out of the total of 150 operated by the city transportation company GSP, he explained.

Those who wish to compete in the tender will have to meet the following conditions: all buses traveling on one route will have to be of the same color, and will have to be equipped with "passenger counters, air conditioning, wireless internet, and video surveillance," Mali said.

The mayor spoke at the Ministry of Economy where he was on Wednesday given a positive opinion on this project by the Government Commission for Public-Private Partnership.

Mali specified that "only those (companies) that meet these conditions will be able to transport Belgraders starting on January 1, 2016."

The City Assembly should adopt the project when it meets on July 16, which will enable the holding of the tender.
