Railway "significant for Serbia, China, Hungary"
The project to build the rail line from Belgrade to Budapest is a priority for Serbia, China and Hungary, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said on Wednesday.

"With that rail line, China will connect Serbia with the European Union," Nikolic said, adding that the cooperation with Chinese friends is precious to Serbia, the presidential press office said in a statement.China is welcome to complete infrastructure projects in Serbia and invest in production, the Serbian president stressed, expressing readiness for continuing the development of deeper friendly ties between the two countries in all fields.
"We live in exceptionally difficult times, conflicts are not subsiding and terrorism is gaining momentum. Our two countries, which have maintained bilateral relations full of understanding and sincere friendship for many years, are an example of commitment to peace and cooperation," Nikolic said.
"I will personally advocate that the project to build the rail line from Belgrade to Budapest be completed on the stretch up to the Hungarian border by the deadline set", the Serbian president said, adding that any issues that may arise must be resolved at the very beginning.
Xu thanked Nikolic for welcoming him and for his sincere commitment to developing the friendship between the two nations.
With Chinese President Xi Jinping, you have signed an agreement aimed at deepening strategic cooperation, and that is highly appreciated, the vice chairman of the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission said.
He particularly noted President Nikolic's personal efforts and commitment to the development of the friendly ties between the two countries and expressed hope that the scope of economic relations will be boosted significantly in the coming period, the statement said.
China's objective is for the works on constructing the rail line from Belgrade to Budapest to start in 2015 and for the project to be completed in two years, Xu stressed.
