NBS: External debt lower by EUR 0.5 million since year start
Serbia's external debt in July 2014 totalled EUR 25.25 billion, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) released.

According to the NBS data, the debt of the private sector dropped by nearly EUR 1 billion, from EUR 13.16 billion to EUR 12.22 billion in the period from the beginning of the year until July. At the same time, the debt of the public sector increased from EUR 9.18 billion to 9.42 billion, by around EUR 240 million.The latest NBS data show that the government and enterprises mostly take out loans with mid-term and long-term maturity date and the total sum of the mid- and long-term debt added up to EUR 25.08 billion in July, while the short-term debt in the same month totaled around EUR 0.147 billion.
The debt on grounds of Eurobond issue totaled EUR 3.91 billion in July, while the debt toward the London Club added up to EUR 0.28 billion.
The debt of the Serbian Government and enterprises to international financial organisations totaled EUR 7.28 billion in July, while their debt toward governments and government agencies added up to EUR 3.11 billion.
Serbia's total foreign currency reserves added up to EUR 12.17 billion in August 2014, which is by around EUR 1 billion more than in the previous month when the figure totalled EUR 11.16 billion, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) released.
The latest NBS Statistical Bulletin states that the NBS foreign currency reserves totalled EUR 10.94 billion, while foreign currency reserves of other banks added up to EUR 1.22 billion.
The total foreign currency reserves thus exceeded the sum recorded in December 2013 by around EUR 70 million.
In December 2013, total foreign currency reserves added up to EUR 12.10 billion, with NBS foreign currency reserves totaling EUR 11.18 billion and other banks' reserves at EUR 0.91 billion.
