BELGRADE First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic opened on Monday in Belgrade a new printing facility of Ringier Axel Springer, along with its investors. This proves that Serbia is safe for investments, Vucic said, adding that he believes that the country is slowly but certainly overcoming the crisis. Deputy PM: Serbia is safe for investments "We are grateful for this investment and satisfied that they realized that Serbia is a place good for investments," Vucic said, adding that it is very important that new jobs will be created and that local construction workers carried out this project. Pointing out that he often disagrees with what is published in Ringier Axel Springer's editions, the deputy prime minister said the company perhaps did choose the right track, because, as he put it, our people love to criticize the Serbian government, which is good for the government, because it will work even harder and better under pressure. Vucic also voiced hope that there will be more such investments and that the company will hire more people. CEO of Ringier AG Marc Walder said that this investment proves how committed to investing in Serbia they are, especially in independent media, which are important for a democratic country and people. He said he had met with Vucic, adding he "admires his way of dealing with the issues of Kosovo, corruption and EU integration." Ringier Axel Springer Serbia General Manager Jelena Petrovic-Drakulic said it took more than two years to finalize the project of the construction and reconstruction of this printing facility and that more than 20 local companies dealing with design and construction were included. The investment is worth around EUR 8.3 million, RSD 39,5 million of which was paid to Serbia's budget in taxes and licenses. The full amount was financed by Ringier Axel Springer in Serbia, and by taking part in this project, the Swiss publisher Ringier and the German Axel Springer showed they believe in our market and Serbia, she added. (Tanjug) Bosch certain, "Mercedes quite likely" Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday that Bosch will open "a huge factory" that will employ about 600 people in Simanovci near Belgrade in November. Also, Mercedes is close to signing a contract with the Automobile Factory Priboj (FAP), Vucic said. “Things like these show that Serbia is going straight ahead, unemployment is decreasing, more investment is coming, and this is what matters most to us,” Vucic said.
