Prior bankruptcy proceedings against Port Belgrade launched

BELGRADE - The Commercial Court in Belgrade announced today it had launched a Port of Belgrade bankruptcy proceedings. Gordana Despotovic Roza was appointed an interim acting manager. Prior bankruptcy proceedings against Port Belgrade launched Despotovic was instructed to check the accuracy of the reorganization plan, and whether the assessment of the value of all movable and immovable property, claims of creditors and liabilities that Luka has with third parties was properly carried out. The hearing at which it will be voted on the reorganization plan is scheduled for 9th September in the Commercial Court. Meanwhile payments from the Port account, as well as the disposal of its assets without the consent of the acting manager were prohibited. It is forbidden to the National Bank of Serbia - Department of forced collection of Kragujevac to carry out orders on blocking and forced collection from all accounts of the debtor. Port of Belgrade is the subject of controversial privatization with the participation of businessmen Milan Beko and Miroslav Miskovic, through the company Vordlfin from Luxembourg, fwhereas the former Minister Predrag Bubalo has been accused of having been aware of the fact that Luka was being sold below the true value.
