BELGRADE A political and business delegation from the Russian Federation met with on Wednesday Serbian Minister of Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic. According to reports, they "expressed readiness to sign business arrangements with Serbia." "Russia wants Serbian fruit, vegetables, wine" Ljajic met with Russia's Deputy Minister of Agriculture Pavel Semenov and Alexei Nemeryuk, head of the Moscow Department of Trade and Services, with whom he discussed concrete plans for increasing the export of agricultural and food products from Serbia to the Russian market. Representatives of major retail chains and distribution centers who are part of the Russian delegation expressed great interest in importing food from Serbia, above all fruit, vegetables, wine, meat and dairy products, the Ministry of Trade and Telecommunications said in a release. It was agreed that a delegation of major Serbian food manufacturers will visit Moscow in June to make concrete export deals. The Russian businesspeople also showed willingness to help their Serbian partners open a big logistical and distribution center in Moscow.
