Kuwait will approve EUR 25 million loan to Serbia for the construction of Belgrade's railway station Prokop "under very favorable conditions".

BELGRADE Kuwait will approve EUR 25 million loan to Serbia for the construction of Belgrade's railway station Prokop "under very favorable conditions". The loan will be approved on Monday, officials announced, and explained that it will have a fixed annual interest rate of three percent, a reimbursement period of 18 years, and a grace period of four years. Kuwait approves loan for Belgrade railway station Prime Minister of Kuwait Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah informed Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Ljajic about the loan on Sunday, Ljajic's office said. The contract will be officially signed by representatives of Zeleznice Srbije (Serbian Railways) and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development in Belgrade late in November this year. Al-Sabah told Ljajic that Kuwait is ready to invest in other Serbian railway infrastructure projects as well, and that the dynamics of these investments will depend on the success of works on Prokop railway station. Al-Sabah and Ljajic also agreed at the meeting that the sectors of energy, construction, agriculture, food processing and tourism also offer potential for cooperation and Kuwaiti investments. Prime Minister of Kuwait Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah informed Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Ljajić about the loan on Sunday, Ljajić's office said.

The contract will be officially signed by representatives of Železnice Srbije (Serbian Railways) and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development in Belgrade late in November this year.

Al-Sabah told Ljajić that Kuwait is ready to invest in other Serbian railway infrastructure projects as well, and that the dynamics of these investments will depend on the success of works on Prokop railway station.

Al-Sabah and Ljajić also agreed at the meeting that the sectors of energy, construction, agriculture, food processing and tourism also offer potential for cooperation and Kuwaiti investments.
