Serbian currency up, exchange rate at RSD 115.7

The dinar strengthened by 0.1 percent against the euro on Monday, setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 115.7011, the National Bank of Serbia said.

The dinar strengthened by 0.1 percent against the euro on Monday, setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 115.7011, the National Bank of Serbia said. Over the weekend, Friday's exchange rate of RSD 115.8203 for one euro was in effect. The national currency is up 1.4 percent compared to this time last month and 12.9 percent down on the year.

The dinar hit its highest level against the euro on January 11 with the exchange rate at RSD 103.6922 and the lowest on June 4, when one euro was worth RSD 117.6943.

Since the beginning of the year, the central bank has sold a total of EUR 1.288 billion on the interbank foreign exchange market to keep the national currency stable.
