The official middle exchange rate for the Serbian dinar (RSD) against the euro (EUR) remained unchanged on Friday, at RSD 111.0697. The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has sold EUR 40mn to stop the downward trend of the dinar, the central bank has said in a release. NBS sells EUR 40mn, exchange rate stagnates Excluding the latest intervention, the central bank sold EUR 328.5mn on the inter-bank foreign exchange market since the beginning of the year in order to ease the excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate. The dinar hit its historic low against the hard currency on Thursday, with one euro worth RSD 111.0888. This year, the dinar was the strongest on January 11, at RSD 103.6922 per one euro. On the monthly level, the dinar will drop against the euro by 1.7 percent, and on the annual level the drop would total 7.1 percent. The dinar hit its historic low against the hard currency on Thursday, with one euro worth RSD 111.0888.

This year, the dinar was the strongest on January 11, at RSD 103.6922 per one euro.

On the monthly level, the dinar will drop against the euro by 1.7 percent, and on the annual level the drop would total 7.1 percent.

The indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate was at RSD 84.3418 to the dollar on Wednesday and was by 0.5 percent lower than on the previous day.

Compared to the previous month, the dinar dropped against the U.S. dollar by 2.4 percent, while weakening by 13.6 per cent relative to the previous year.
