The government priorities are infrastructure projects and large assets from the sale of Telekom will be invested in roads, says PM Mirko Cvetkovic. The government plans to this year sell its 40-percent stake in the country's telecommunications company Telekom Srbija. “Telekom money to be invested in roads” “If we successfully sell Telekom, we will have enough funds for construction of transverse highways,” Cvetkovic said during his visit to the town of Krusevac this Monday. The premier mentioned a highway which would connect Pojate, Krusevac, Pozega and Uzice and extend farther west toward Republic of Srpska (RS). While laying a cornerstone for the construction of a new customs service complex, he pointed out that the government had made a decision to, beside the basic corridors, also build transverse highways which would connect them. “That’s a plan which includes construction of horizontal infrastructure by connecting the main corridors, to which most funds from the sale of Telekom will be allocated,” the PM explained. Cvetkovic emphasized that the construction of the complex in Krusevac represented a contribution to the “decentralization of Serbia”, which would be continued, and that it would have a “great significance for the city and the area”.
