Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic met with China's Eximbank president to discuss possibilities of drawing favorable loans for Serbia's infrastructure projects. "Our friendly relations with China and the strategic partnership that President Boris Tadic signed on Thursday are a great ticket in, for Serbia's faster economic development," Dinkic, who is a member of the state delegation currently visiting China, said. Dinkic on favorable Chinese loans According to him there are two types of loans, and one will be approved for the Zemun-Borca bridge in Belgrade, with the project value after its feasibility study has been completed expected to be up to EUR 200mn. "Here the most favorable bid from a suitable Chinese company will be chosen, with support from their Ministry of Commerce." According to Dinkic, although a Chinese company will be the main contractor, Serbian firms will also be engaged, while the Chinese Ministry of Commerce will subsidize that loan. The minister added that the fixed interest rate should be up to three percent annually.
