January budget deficit: EUR 8.5mn

Serbia’s budget deficit in January was approximately EUR 8.5mn, with revenue of EUR 479mn, and expenditure of EUR 487.5mn. According to a report on budget income and spending published by the Finance Ministry, the highest revenue of EUR 266mn came from value added tax (VAT). At the end of 2000, public debt totaled USD 14.2bn.
